Regender!

Появил се е един интересен нов онлайн преводач - www.regender.com, който променя единствено половете в превежданата книга или цитат. Вижте какво е направил с части от Библията: Genesis 1. Следват цитати от произведенията на някои от най-известните (и по-полемични) писателки фантастки.

Започвам с кралицата, богиня и майка на модерната фантастична литература - Робърта Хайнлайн:

Моята любима Саманта Р. Дилейни би била предизвикателство за преводача (и читателите) с книги като Stars In My Pocket Like Grains Of Sand, където местоименията вече са разбъркани, (същото се отнася и за писателя Марк Пиърси, който пък съвсем елиминира местоименията за род с общото per (от person) в романа си Man On The Edge Of Time), но ето примери от другаде, където се е получила игра със смисъла:

За съжаление, не всеки такъв превод става интересен или забавен. Едно от най-уникалните изречения във фантастиката - "The King was pregnant." от "Лявата ръка на мрака" - преведено ще звучи напълно обикновено. Няма съмнение обаче, че някои текстове биха спечелили от "преполовяване." Хубаво ще е феновете на Flesh на Филип Хосе Фармър да прочетат романа след такава намеса, за да могат по-лесно да видят колко много глупости и колко малко вкус има в произведението ;).
